12 Days Of BLOGMAS Day 1: Top 5 Christmas Songs

On the first day of Christmas, my blog page gave to me, A top 5 Christmas songs list.

What better way to start off Blogmas then to begin with Christmas songs! The only time of the years it's acceptable to play them and not get weird looks from the people sitting next to you in traffic!!

Honourable Mentions

A couple of Christmas crackers that didn't make the top 5 include Justin Briber's MistleToe which is just a catchy tune. It's just a cute christmasy song with a good beat. Jonas Brothers released a Christmas song last years which is also amazing called Like It's Christmas which is a belter, the beat is such a bop with a continuous click which is easy to join in!! Mariah Carey, All I want For Christmas Is You is a great Christmas song and you will always hear it, but it's over played too much and get's annoying after the first few times!

My Top 5

5: Michael Buble - Holly Jolly Christmas

You can't have a Christmas playlist without this man and this album. It was hard to pick just one from this album as he covered loads of great Christmas songs including, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas and Santa Baby. Holly Jolly Christmas is my personal fave as it's a jolly song with classic jingle bells in the background and a nice beat to bop your head along to. The lyrics are also happy wishing everyone a holly jolly Christmas and get's everyone in the mood for all things Christmas.

4: Elton John - Step Into Christmas

This upbeat Christmas banger is fast enough to get anyone and everyone on their feet dancing and singing along, it's a hit!! As soon as the song starts, you're hit with a catchy guitar riff and then the beat kicks in with Elton singing surrounded by bells and chimes to get into the spirit. What's an Elton John song without a bit of piano, something that makes this song sound even more christmassy.

3: Chris Rea - Driving Home For Christmas

A golden oldy and my mums personal favourite song. Compared to the other songs, this one is toned down with a soothing orchestral intro with a cheerful piano tune. This song gives off such chill vibes about someone driving home to see his love at Christmas time. There's just nothing to hate about this song as it's a classic.

2: Dean Martin - Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Although this isn't the original version of the song, I just love this version. It's so calm and chilled. His voice feels so warm and gives off cosy winter vibes by a fire. The song starts with wintery chimes. The song has had many covers and remakes including Dean Martins, some other people that have covered the classic include: the great Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble.

1: WHAM - Last Christmas

An absolute classic that everyone knows the lyrics to the chorus. A belter that is bound to be on every Christmas playlist known to Spotify and played in every Christmas office, workplace and party. It's a soft snow tune to it with some ice cold lyrics that makes it a classic! I am always turning this one up to full volume and screaming the lyrics to the top of my voice!

Let me know your top 5 Christmas songs and if I have missed out any bangers that should be on this list. Hope you enjoyed the first day of Blogmas and I look forward to seeing you in a couple of days!!
