Zoe Wakelam - Held Your Hand

Lets start 2021 off with a bang!

The big pandemic and multiple lockdowns has not stopped Zoe Wakelam as she kick starts 2021 with a brand new single called 'Held Your Hand'. This is a song that you'll be adding to your playlists without a doubt.

Zoe likes to write most of her hits about anxiety, loneliness and courage, with honesty and hope, whereas, Held Your Hand is a non-breakup-breakup single which surrounds the power of the love, language and physical touch. Zoe believes love is an underestimated language that has the power to connect us on a more emotional level than we are prepared to engage with.

The song starts with Zoe on the phone to someone who sounds like a partner but not for much longer as she calls the relationship off. Then incomes a ukulele melody which is then soon stopped and Zoe switches up the song to something completely different but it works so well!! Something I love about this song is the way it starts and ends with the ukulele melody giving the song a kind of symmetrical feel.

After being born in Australia and growing up in London, Zoe combines indie pop tendencies and layered vocals with rhythmic percussion and sometimes quirky lyrics. She has been featured on CLOUT, Kings Of A&R and Wolf In A Suit.
